EXPERIENCE THE FUTURE OF ORTHODONTICS

What Is Invisalign and How Does It Work?

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. Unlike traditional braces, which rely on metal brackets and wires, Invisalign clear aligners are made from smooth, comfortable plastic that is virtually invisible when worn.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Initial Consultation: During your first visit with our Invisalign dentist in Vancouver BC, we will assess your smile and discuss your goals.
  2. Customized Treatment Plan: Using advanced 3D imaging technology, we’ll create a detailed treatment plan. This plan maps out the precise movements of your teeth, allowing you to visualize your future smile before treatment even begins.
  3. Aligner Creation: Based on your customized plan, we’ll fabricate a series of clear aligners specifically for you. Each aligner is designed to gently shift your teeth into the desired position over time.
  4. Wearing Your Aligners: You’ll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you progress through the aligners, your teeth will gradually move into alignment.

CHOOSE CLARITY AND COMFORT

Why Choose Invisalign Over Traditional Braces?

Invisalign offers several advantages over traditional metal braces:

  • Discreet Appearance: The clear aligners are nearly invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without drawing attention to your orthodontic treatment.
  • Comfortable Fit: Made from smooth plastic, the aligners are less likely to cause irritation compared to metal brackets and wires.
  • Removable: Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene, making it easier to maintain good dental care.
  • Fewer Office Visits: With Invisalign in Vancouver BC, you may require fewer appointments for adjustments compared to traditional braces.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

The duration of Invisalign treatment varies depending on individual needs. On average, adults can expect treatment to last about 12 to 18 months, while teenagers may have a similar timeline to traditional braces. The length of your treatment will be determined during your consultation based on your specific alignment needs and goals.

What Can You Expect During Your Invisalign Journey?

Getting started with Invisalign involves several key steps:

  1. Consultation: Meet with our dentist in Vancouver BC, to discuss your goals and evaluate whether Invisalign is the right choice for you.
  2. Digital Imaging: We use advanced 3D imaging to create a virtual model of your teeth and design your treatment plan.
  3. Receiving Aligners: Once your aligners are ready, you’ll receive them along with instructions on how to wear and care for them.
  4. Wearing Aligners: Follow the prescribed schedule, wearing each aligner for the recommended time to achieve optimal results.
  5. Monitoring Progress: Regular check-ups at our dental office ensure your treatment is progressing as planned.

How to Maintain Your Invisalign Aligners?

Proper care of your Invisalign clear aligners is essential for maintaining their effectiveness and cleanliness:

  • Clean Regularly: Use a soft toothbrush and mild soap to clean your aligners daily. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the plastic.
  • Avoid Staining Foods: Remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water to prevent staining and odor.
  • Store Properly: When not in use, keep your aligners in their case to avoid loss or damage.

Is Invisalign Covered by Insurance?

Many dental insurance plans offer coverage for orthodontic treatments, including Invisalign. During your consultation, our team will help you determine your insurance benefits and provide a detailed cost outline. We also offer flexible payment options to make achieving your dream smile more accessible.

Dental Assistant

Hi! I’m Jaehee (Jay).

Originally from South Korea, I worked as a Dental Hygienist for 8 years before moving to Canada, where I now work as a Certified Dental Assistant. My experience has taught me the importance of providing high quality care and helping every patient feel at ease during their visit.

Since my time as a Dental Hygienist in Korea, I have always valued being attentive and detail oriented. I do my best to create a comfortable experience for every patient, and seeing patients leave with a smile is the most rewarding part of my job.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my cat  ’Thunder‘ who moved to Canada with me from Korea. I also enjoy weightlifting during the week, running on weekends, and spending time outdoors tanning during the summer.
